Learning about the butterfly life cycle is one of my daughter favorite studies of the year. Butterflies are not only beautiful, but they go through such dramatic transformations that children love to be engaged in.  This year we decided to order a live caterpillar kit so we could watch the magical transformation occur before our eyes! It has been so much fun to watch the caterpillars as they grow, spin their cocoons and then turn into butterflies. My little one released the butterflies into our yard and has enjoyed going outside and seeing her butterflies hang around! Check out my post on our life caterpillar kit observation! This live kit took almost 1 month from getting the kit to releasing the butterflies. Even though the live kit took a month we did this Mini Study for about two weeks. During those two weeks we did many different activities that related to the life cycle of butterflies from the eggs to the growing caterpillars, the chrysalis then finally the butterfly. This Butterfly Life Cycle Mini Study for Kids is the perfect study to do with your children.
