Snowman Advent Calendar

Let’s get started

Start by pre-cutting the shapes out of the construction paper. If your child is older draw the shapes out and let them cut it.

You need:

Black: 2 large circles, 5 small circles, and top hat

Orange: carrot shape

Red: three berries

Green: leaves

Parent only) using a pair of scissors punch a hold through the center of the plate. Using the metal brad put it through your carrot and into the hole in the plate. Fasten the brad to the back of the plate by opening both prongs.

Have your child glue the eyes and the mouth, in the shape of a smile on the plate. Glue the top hat onto the plate.

Next glue the leaf and three berries onto the hat.

Write 1-25 around the edge of the plate.

Enjoy your calendar! You can tape it to the wall, use a hole punch and string to hang it someone or just set it in a place where your child can see it.

How to use

To use your calendar you can start on the 25 and everyday move your carrot down a number to count down the days till Christmas.

Or

You can start your calendar on the 1 and count up everyday till you reach Christmas.

It will depend on your child and what they will understand better.

Best thing of all you will never have to answer how many days till Christmas again.

I love changing my calendar first thing in the morning and we count how many days left every day. This is a great activity for your younger ones, to teach them about numbers and counting
