This year we decided to do a butterfly study. It has been such a great experience.packed full of fun and learning. This study included raising live caterpillars, worksheets, books, videos and crafts. During this study we decided to the activity painting a butterfly house for kids. We will hang this house outside for our butterflies to live in once we released them! This is a great hands on fine motor activity to do with your little ones!
Materials
Mod-Podge Sealer (Optional)
I love this kit because it comes with paint and the paintbrush! It is perfect for an easy set up and fun activity!
Painting a butterfly house for kids!
Take all the packaging off, open the paint and let your little one paint away!
Once your little one is done let the paint dry completely.
**This next part is optional we choose to do it so that the rain would not wash the paint away and so the wood hopefully not get ruined from the weather!
Once the paint is completely dry spay the entire butterfly house with a sealer.
Let the sealer dry completely.
Now your ready to enjoy the butterfly house. You can leave it empty or put things in the house such as tree bark and sticks to provide a little more shelter. Don’t over fill it though.
