Are you looking for a fun and easy Thanksgiving activity for your children? Turkey salt painting art activity can be fun and exciting for the kids to try. Its an easy art project that you can set up in minutes and it only takes a few items, which most of us already have in our house. This activity is perfect for toddlers to elementary aged children.

Materials

Salt Turkey

Construction Paper

Salt

Elmer’s Glue

Water Paint

Googly Eyes

Pencil

Getting Started

Start by drawing a picture of a turkey on your paper.

Next cover the pencil lines with glue.

Now sprinkle a good coat of salt over all the glue making sure it’s well coated. Then shake off the excess. It’s hard to see the salt on the white background, but just make sure your glue is covered with salt. Let the glue dry just for a minute while you get ready for the next step.

Get the brush wet and dip it in the paint. Then brush the salt gently or you can also let the paint drip onto the salt. We used a paint brush for ours but you can also use a dropper if you would like!

My daughter absolutely loved doing this activity and I see us doing it again next year. You can also have fun with this and draw whatever shape you would like!
