If your little ones are anything like mine you know water play is a must for outside play during the summer. These DIY sponge water bombs are perfect for playing in the water, they are inexpensive, easy to make and a fun sensory activity too!
Sponge Water Bombs
Materials
Different Color Sponges ( 2 sponges per sponge bomb)
String (We used Floss it worked but not as well as string)
Scissors
Tub for water
Prep
Cut each sponge lengthwise into 4 pieces
Stack 4 sponge pieces and lay them side by side alternating colors. Then stack four more directly on top.
Take a piece of string and tie it around the stack of sponge pieces. Make sure to pull the string really tight and knot it. Cut off the extra string.
Take your container and add water, place the sponge bombs into the water and have fun!
Play
There are many different ways to play with this water sponge bomb activity. You can have a water fight, toss the sponge bomb back and forth like playing hot potato or play with them in the container with water like a sensory bin.
This activity is a great way to create hours of outside play time for your little ones!
