Dot paining is a fun activity to do with your kids at anytime of the year, but this Shamrock Dot Painting is absolutely perfect for St. Patrick’s Day!

One thing I really like about this activity is how simple it is and you can do it for any time of the year just change the shape and colors up!

Getting Started

Materials

Shamrock Dot Painting

Start by cutting your shamrock

Place pieces of tape on the back of the shamrock to keep it stuck to the paper while dot painting.

Place the Shamrock onto your paper and get ready for your little one to dot paint the paper!

Let your little one stamp away.

Once your little one is done set it aside to dry for a couple of minutes.

Take the shamrock off. Be careful not to rip the paper from the tape.

Dot Painting

This is a great fine motor activity, along with teaching hand coordination and pencil control. If you do not have dot markers there are a few other materials you can use. Your little one could use their finger to create the dots, a q-tip, mini marshmallows or cotton balls. If you choose to use the mini marshmallows use a tooth pick to hold onto the marshmallow. For the cotton balls use a clothes pin to hold the cotton ball.
