Colored Rice Sensory Bin
Does your child love playing in sensory tables? Colored rice is a great sensory table item that is so easy to do! And unlike most that I have found this way does not need rubbing alcohol or vinegar!
Materials
Sand-which bags
Flat surface to dry rice ( depending on the amount you make you could use a paper plate or put aluminum foil down on any surface that will also work)
Lets get to It!
1. Start by dividing the rice up into different plastic bags. I normally only make three cups of this but you can make as much as you desire.
2. Once the rice is divided into the different bags decide you will now but a could drops of the food coloring into the bags. Do not mix colors yet.
3. Shake the bag to make sure the food coloring spreads to all the rice.
4. Poor out the rice and let it air dry
5. Once dried it is ready to play with
How to Play with Colored rice
I love to add measuring cups, spoons and funnels into my sensory table so my little one can have fun scooping, and pouring. Another idea would to put another material into the sand and play hide in seek. Have your child find the different items hidden within the sand. Add tongs to make this more difficult and have them use the tongs to pick up the different items.
